Cover Mechanic Update
Cover now applies -1 to hit rolls instead of modifying saves. The IGNORES COVER ability has been updated accordingly.
Plunging Fire
Added Plunging Fire toggle to the Attack Context panel for ranged attacks.
Snap Shooting
Added Snap Shooting attack context option for ranged attacks. When enabled, only unmodified 6s hit and re-rolls are disabled. Critical hit effects (SUSTAINED HITS, LETHAL HITS) still trigger on 6s.
CLEAVE
Added CLEAVE X melee weapon ability.
Preset modifiers available: CLEAVE 1, CLEAVE 2, CLEAVE 3, CLEAVE D3.
BLAST
Updated BLAST to use the BLAST X format.
The existing BLAST preset has been updated to BLAST 1 for backwards compatibility - existing weapons using BLAST will continue to work unchanged.
Preset modifiers available: BLAST 1, BLAST 2, BLAST 3, BLAST D3.
HEAVY
Updated HEAVY to match 11th Edition rules. The "Attacker Remained Stationary" checkbox has been renamed to "HEAVY Eligible" in the Attack Context panel.
PSYCHIC
Updated PSYCHIC weapon ability for 11th Edition. UnitCrunch assumes the attacker will always choose optimally when ignoring modifiers.
Save Allocation Mode (Fast Rolling)
Added Save Allocation Mode toggle to the Simulation Settings panel.
- Slow Rolling (default): Saves are rolled one at a time. Each failed save is allocated to the current target model before rolling the next save.
- Fast Rolling: All saves are rolled at once, then allocated from lowest to highest. The defender optimally assigns dice to model types based on their save characteristics.
Fast Rolling can produce different results for mixed-save units (e.g., a character with 4++ attached to bodyguards with 5++), where the defender benefits from assigning low rolls to models with worse saves.
Conditional USR Aliases
Weapon ability aliases now support conditional USR format. When you create a modifier like LETHAL HITS that only applies to certain keywords, the alias will display the condition:
LETHAL HITS: non-MONSTER/VEHICLE(excludes keywords)SUSTAINED HITS 1: INFANTRY(only keywords)
Existing modifiers will automatically display with the updated format.
Lethal Hits
Updated LETHAL HITS for 11th Edition. The ability is now optional - you can choose to auto-wound on a critical hit.
UnitCrunch assumes the attacker will always make the optimal choice:
- With
DEVASTATING WOUNDS: When the weapon also hasDEVASTATING WOUNDS, UC will skip the auto-wound if the normal wound roll would succeed. This allows a chance to roll a critical wound (6), which triggersDEVASTATING WOUNDSfor mortal wounds instead of a regular wound. - Without
DEVASTATING WOUNDS: The auto-wound is always applied (no benefit to skipping). - When wounding on 6+: The auto-wound is always applied (rolling would be no better).
See the FAQ for more details.
SUPPORT Keyword
Added support for the new SUPPORT keyword for attached units.
The unit editor now shows a Role dropdown for advanced profiles, allowing you to designate units as Bodyguard, Leader, or Support.
Order Slain: Auto-sort now accounts for three categories - bodyguards die first, then support units, then leaders.
Toughness Calculation: Per 11th Edition rules, the profile's toughness is determined by the highest toughness among bodyguard models only. If no bodyguards remain, the highest toughness among leader/support models is used.
BSData Roster Import: 10th Edition Grace Period
During the transition to 11th Edition, roster imports now accept both 10th and 11th Edition BSData files. This gives the BSData community time to update their data files while still allowing you to import your existing rosters.
Other Changes
Compare Characteristics Condition
Added a new Compare characteristics modifier condition. This lets you create modifiers that only apply when an attacker characteristic compares favourably (or unfavourably) against a defender characteristic. #131
Supported comparisons:
- Attacker: Strength, Damage (modified, pre-roll, or unmodified)
- Defender: Toughness, Wounds (modified or unmodified)
- Operators: equal to, greater than, less than, greater than or equal to, less than or equal to
A preset modifier is available:
Strength is greater than toughness (unmodified) : -1 to wound roll
Note: If either characteristic uses dice notation (e.g., D6 damage), the condition will not be met.
Simplified Profile Editor
The profile editor now uses a single Attacker tab instead of separate "Attacker: Melee" and "Attacker: Ranged" tabs. #34
Grant Preset Weapon Ability
The Grant preset weapon ability modifier effect now supports HEAVY as an option. This allows you to create global modifiers that grant HEAVY to weapons based on conditions.
Additionally, the "Attack type" condition is now available for this effect, allowing you to restrict granted abilities to melee or ranged weapons only.
